Down Sendromu bir hastalık değil genetik bir farklılıktır. Bu yüzden tedavisi ya da ortadan kalkması gibi bir durum söz konusu değildir. Fakat erken yaşta başlanacak eğitimlerle Down Sendromlu çocuklara bağımsız yaşam becerileri kazandırmak mümkündür. Çocuğun hayat kalitesini ve yaşamını iyileştirecek en önemli şey erken yaşta başlanan eğitimlerdir.
